Galette de Rois is a confection enjoyed in France during the festival of Epiphany falling on January 6. When taking part in this fun tradition, the person who finds the single fève (ceramic trinket) hidden in each cake becomes king or queen for the day.
At Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo, we will also be presenting our own Galette de Rois for your enjoyment. Prepared by Head Pâtissier Julien Kientzler, this year’s galette is flavored with pistachio. The fève will be in the shape of a Chanel button.
Galette de Rois will be served as a mignardise during lunch and dinner times. Lucky patrons who find a fève will be presented with chocolate and a glass of champagne. Additionally, for customers who found fèves, a drawing for more lovely gifts will be held at a later date.
